We distinguish what comes from peer-reviewed research, what comes from established professional practice, and what Throughline has developed itself.

Narrative engagement and transportation
Well-constructed narratives can increase attention, involvement and persuasive impact in some contexts. Throughline uses story structure to help information become easier to follow and more meaningful, while keeping claims constrained by the source material.

Storytelling can affect emotional engagement and physiological response. Throughline draws on this evidence as part of its story-structure coaching; it does not claim that a particular word choice or level of specificity directly triggers a specific neurochemical response.

Curiosity and information gaps

Throughline uses a broad emotion vocabulary and continuous emotional movement rather than forcing every audience into a handful of rigid categories.

Epistemic emotions

Credibility is the product
Where the source material does not support a claim, Throughline should say so. Where evidence is uncertain or limited, the communication should reflect that uncertainty. The purpose of the evidence base is to make its coaching more disciplined, transparent and defensible.
